Inulin is a naturally occurring fructan in nature, which exists in more than 36,000 kinds of plants. It is the second largest non-structural carbohydrate in nature after starch. The fructose units are linearly linked by β(2-1) Linked, usually with a glucose group at the end of the chain.

1. Natural Chicory Inulin
Chicory root: The root of the chicory plant is harvested and used as raw material for extraction.
Raw material reception: Preliminary inspection and quality screening of harvested chicory roots to ensure good quality and suitability of raw materials.
Washing: The selected chicory roots are washed to remove dirt, impurities and other dirt on the surface.
Shredded: Washed chicory roots are shredded or cut into small pieces to increase the surface area during extraction and facilitate the release of the extract.
Hot water extraction: The shredded chicory root is extracted with hot water, and the effective ingredients and nutrients are released and extracted through high temperature.
Purification: Separate the target components from the hot water extract and remove unwanted impurities and other components to obtain a purer extract.
Desalination: If there are useless components such as salt in the extract, desalination treatment can be carried out to reduce the salt content of the extract.
Depigmentation: If desired, the extract can be depigmented to remove pigments and unwanted colors.
Concentration: The extract is concentrated to remove excess water and make it more concentrated and dense.
Spray drying: Spray the concentrated extract into hot air to make it evaporate quickly and form a powder to get natural chicory inulin.
Granulation: The powder obtained by spray drying is granulated to make it easier to pack and use.
Packing: the prepared natural chicory inulin powder is packed to ensure the sanitation and preservation of the product.
2. Long Chain Chicory Inulin

Depigmentation: If desired, the extract can be depigmented to remove pigments and unwanted colors.
Concentration: The extract is concentrated to remove excess water and make it more concentrated and dense.
Removal of the short-chain fraction: In this step, the short-chain chicory inulin is removed from the extract, leaving the long-chain chicory inulin, resulting in a purer product.
Spray drying: Spray the concentrated long-chain chicory inulin solution into hot air to make it evaporate quickly and form a powder to obtain long-chain chicory inulin.
Granulation: The long-chain chicory inulin obtained by spray drying is granulated to make it easier to pack and use.
Packing: packing the prepared long-chain chicory inulin to ensure the sanitation and preservation of the product.
3. Short Chain Chicory Inulin

Washing: The selected chicory roots are washed to remove dirt, impurities and other dirt on the surface.

Concentration: The extract is concentrated to remove excess water and make it more concentrated and dense.
Partial hydrolysis and desugaring: In this step, the concentrated extract is partially hydrolyzed and desugared to remove part of the long-chain structure and sugars to obtain short-chain chicory inulin.
Spray drying: Spray the partially hydrolyzed and desugared extract solution into hot air to make it evaporate rapidly and form a powder to obtain short-chain chicory inulin powder.
Granulation: The short-chain chicory inulin powder obtained by spray drying is granulated to make it easier to pack and use.
Packing: the prepared short-chain chicory inulin is packed to ensure the sanitation and preservation of the product.
