What is oligopeptide-1?
Oligopeptide-1 acts as a cell adhesion molecule that helps cells stick to the outside of the cell in the matrix, it helps cells migrate, proliferate, differentiate, and repair skin cells. Oligopeptide-1 is naturally present in the blood, saliva, and urine and decreases with age. Oligopeptide-1 regulates the synthesis and breakdown of collagen and glycosaminoglycans, as well as the activity of metalloproteinases and their inhibitors. It stimulates the synthesis of collagen, dermal sulfate, chitin sulfate, small glycoprotein, and glycoprotein, and it can also restore the regenerative capacity of fibroblast cells after radiotherapy and chemotherapy. Characteristics

Immunofluorescence results showed that collagen expression of fibroblast cells was significantly increased after oligopeptide-1 treatment in vitro.
Fibronectin is secreted by fibroblasts and AIDS in cell adhesion and migration. Laminin is present in the basement membrane, and it also promotes the adhesion of epithelial cells to the basement membrane. Both glycoproteins are involved in tissue repair and healing.
Immunofluorescence results showed that the expression of laminin was significantly increased in fibroblasts treated with oligopeptide-1 in vitro.
Clinical research
Forty female volunteers (45-65 years of age with significant facial relaxation) were selected to apply a formulated lotion containing 100 ppm oligopeptide-1 to the face twice daily for two months. Two months later, the compactness, tensioning and elasticity were measured by a tester.
In vivo testing
Twenty-three volunteers applied a cream containing 4% oligopeptide-1 or a placebo for 28 days and found that skin thickness was measured and the results showed that oligopeptide-1 increased epidermal thickness.
