Coprinus comatus is widely available in Central Europe and is highly valued as an edible mushroom because of its delicious asparagus flavour. The mushroom with the small white pileus belongs to the Coprinus family. This type of mushroom has a relatively short lifespan. Shaggy ink cap has about 30% raw protein with 20 free amino acids when dried. The mushroom also contains potassium, magnesium, iron, calcium, zinc, copper and vanadium. Vitamins C, B-3 and B-1 are also important components. What's more, Coprinus comatus is low in sodium.
Coprinus is also calledshaggy ink cap. In Latin: Coprinus comatus. It's highly prized in gastronomy and also has a firm place in European mycotherapy and traditional Chinese medicine. It has been shown to contain a significant amount of vitamins, minerals and trace elements, and all of them in an unusually balanced composition. Furthermore, it also has a significant concentration of proteins. Coprinus also contains all essencial aminoacids, which humans need. According to Chinese medicine, its main domain is the so-called Xiao Ke (three thirstings). This state is close to what we call diabetes mellitus II, or simply diabetes. Strictly monitored blood sugar tests are always important and especially when using Coprinus.
