What is L-Ergothioneine?
L-Ergothioneine is a crystalline sulfur-containing compound first discovered in 1909 in the ergot fungus. Ergothioneine is found in a wide variety of plants, animals, and microorganisms, but only some microorganisms can synthesize it themselves.

Ergothioneine has an absorption wavelength similar to that of DNA (260mm) in the UV absorption range, which can effectively protect against cell damage caused by UV radiation.
