Characteristics
 

Calcium carbonate is an odorless, white, fine powder that exists in various crystal forms. Calcium carbonate has a relative density of 2.5-2.7 and is practically insoluble in water and ethanol, but soluble in less dense acids (acetic acid, less dense hydrochloric acid and nitric acid).
